About Gary Hough

Director and founder, Ozfix Constructions

Director and licensed builder of Ozfix Constructions, Gary Hough, has over 30 years hands on and management roles in both Europe and in Australia.

He entered the industry straight from school and followed in the footsteps of both his Father and Grandfather. Gary says, “I’m extremely proud to be a 3rd generation builder.”

From a young age, “Premium quality work with a meticulous eye for fine detail” was instilled in him and this motto has seen him through years of successful projects.

Gary established Ozfix Carpentry Pty Ltd in 2007

after 15 years working within various roles in both the residential and commercial industry in Sydney.

From a team of himself and one other tradesman, Gary’s business quickly gained a reputation for quality work.  The business grew every year, for over 12 years and developed into a team of 25 carpenters and apprentices, with Gary managing the business from a purpose-built workshop and office.

Works carried out by Ozfix Carpentry include

  • Luxury residential new houses
  • Renovation and extensions for high-net-worth clients.
  • Large scale commercial carpentry projects including multi-unit residential, hotels, motels, government agencies.

Ozfix did various work within the hospitality industry for the Merivale Group including Papi Chulo’s Manly, Newport Arms Hotel, Paddington Inn, Coogee Palace Hotel, and the Fortune Of War Hotel.

They also were an integral part of the construction team on the only bridge of its kind in Australia – The Nepean River Bridge At Penrith.

Relocation

In mid-2018 after many years spent on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Gary and his family made the decision to move to Port Macquarie on the Mid-North Coast.

Towards the end of 2020, Gary established Ozfix Constructions as he saw a gap in the market for a premium quality construction business on the Mid North Coast.

Gary hopes to continue the great success story he had in Sydney by building on the same formula and great ethics, “Building beyond the expectations of my clients.”
